Section 2

Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Caskable, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions in full. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use this site.

These terms apply to all visitors and readers of Caskable, wherever they are located, including those accessing the site from the United Kingdom, the EU and EEA, the United States, Australia, and other English-speaking markets. Where local consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction provide rights that cannot be excluded by these terms, those rights are not affected.

Section 3

Age restriction

Age requirement

Caskable publishes content about alcoholic beverages and is intended solely for adults of legal drinking age in their country of residence. By using this site you confirm that you meet this requirement.

The legal drinking age varies by country. In the United Kingdom you must be 18 to buy alcohol. It is also 18 in most of the European Union and in Australia, although some countries set a higher age for spirits (in Norway, for example, it is 20 for spirits such as whisky). In the United States, the legal drinking age is 21 in all states. If you are below the legal drinking age in your country, you must leave this site immediately.

Caskable Limited complies with applicable UK law and codes on alcohol content and marketing, including the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) CAP Code rules on alcohol advertising, the alcohol-marketing laws of the EU and EEA countries our readers are in, and US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines where content is directed at US audiences.

Section 4

Editorial independence

Caskable operates as an editorially independent publication. All review scores, tasting notes, and editorial opinions published on this site represent the genuine views of our contributors and are not influenced by commercial relationships, advertising arrangements, or sample submissions.

Core editorial principle

No brand, distillery, or retailer has ever paid for a positive review score on Caskable. Advertising with us, submitting samples, or entering into a sponsored content arrangement does not influence any editorial outcome.

Where Caskable publishes sponsored content — such as sponsored reviews, sponsored features, or newsletter sponsorships — this is clearly identified with a 'Sponsored' or 'In partnership with' label at the top of the relevant content. Sponsored content is written by Caskable's editorial team to the same standard as all other content. This disclosure practice follows UK consumer protection law (Part 4, Chapter 1 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024), ASA and CMA guidance on disclosing paid content, EU Directive 2005/29/EC on unfair commercial practices as applied in national law, and the US FTC Endorsement Guides.

Section 5

Affiliate links

Some links on Caskable — including 'Buy it' links on review pages and retailer references in guides — may be affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, Caskable may receive a small commission from the retailer at no additional cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence our review scores, editorial content, or the retailers we choose to reference. We link only to retailers we consider reputable and relevant to our readers.

Where affiliate links are present on a page, this is disclosed clearly on that page. This practice follows UK consumer protection law (Part 4, Chapter 1 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024), ASA and CMA guidance on affiliate disclosure, EU Directive 2005/29/EC as applied in national law, and the US FTC Endorsement and Testimonial Guidelines (16 CFR Part 255).

Section 6

Accuracy and liability

Review scores and opinions

All review scores and tasting notes published on Caskable represent the subjective opinion of the individual reviewer at the time of tasting. Whisky is a variable product — scores may not reflect every reader's experience of the same expression.

Limitation of liability

Nothing on Caskable constitutes advice to purchase or avoid any product. Caskable Limited accepts no liability for any purchasing decisions made on the basis of content published on this site.

Pricing and availability

Prices quoted on Caskable are indicative at the time of writing and may have changed. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any pricing information and accept no liability for discrepancies between prices quoted on the site and prices charged by retailers.

General accuracy

Caskable makes reasonable efforts to ensure that factual information — including production details, distillery histories, and regional guides — is accurate at the time of publication. We do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of this information and it may change without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Caskable Limited excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from reliance on content published on Caskable. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Where applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 in the UK, do not permit such exclusions, those statutory rights remain unaffected.

Site availability

Caskable is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we reserve the right to suspend, withdraw, or modify any part of the site at any time without notice.

Section 7

Intellectual property

All content published on Caskable — including review text, tasting notes, editorial features, distillery profiles, regional guides, photography, and the Caskable brand identity — is the intellectual property of Caskable Limited or its contributing authors, and is protected under UK and international copyright law.

You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, or commercially exploit any Caskable content without prior written permission from Caskable Limited. Brief quotations for the purposes of criticism, review, commentary, or news reporting are permitted where the law allows it, provided that Caskable is clearly attributed as the source and a link to the original content is included.

To request permission to reproduce content, contact hello@caskable.com.

Section 8

Governing law, changes, and contact

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes not resolved informally shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence and any right you have to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live.

If you have a complaint, please email us first and we will do our best to put it right. UK-based readers can get free consumer advice from Citizens Advice. Readers in the EU and EEA may contact their national consumer authority; in Norway, for example, that is the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).

Changes to these terms

Caskable Limited reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of Caskable following publication of revised terms constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
